How Multiple Devices Work with Rock Player

Most homes today have more screens than people. A television in the living room, a Firestick in the bedroom, a tablet in the kitchen and a phone in every pocket. So one of the most common questions we hear is simple: how many of these can I use with Rock Player?
The answer depends on one distinction - the difference between being logged in and actually watching.
The rule, in our own words
Here is the approved wording from our FAQ:
One subscription is for one device at a time. You can log in on two devices, but you can watch on only one device at a time.
Read that carefully, because it contains two separate ideas.
Logging in
A one-device subscription can be signed in on two devices. For example, you might have Rock Player set up on both your living room TV and your phone. That is fine.
Watching
Even though both devices are logged in, only one of them can be watching at any given moment. If the TV is playing and you start watching on your phone, that is two devices watching at the same time, which a one-device subscription does not cover.
Why it works this way
A device plan is built around simultaneous viewing. Keeping it clear - one subscription, one screen playing at a time - means everyone knows where they stand, and the experience on that screen stays steady.
Counting the devices you need
The useful number is not how many devices you own. It is how many screens are likely to be playing at the same time.
Try this quick exercise:
- Think about your busiest viewing time - often weekday evenings or weekend afternoons.
- Count the people who might each be watching something different at that moment.
- That number is your device count.
Some examples
- A single viewer who watches on a TV at home and a phone on the go: one device usually covers it, since you are never watching both at once.
- A couple who sometimes watch different things in different rooms: two devices.
- A family of four where the children watch in their rooms while the adults use the living room: three or four devices, depending on habits.
Plans from one to five devices
Every Rock Player plan length - 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, 2 years and Lifetime - is available for one to five devices. For example, a 1-month plan is $15 for one device, $20 for two, $24 for three, $28 for four and $32 for five. A 12-month plan is $70, $115, $150, $180 or $199 for one to five devices.

Making shared viewing easier
When several people share Rock Player, a few features help everyone feel at home.
Profiles
Give each person their own profile. That keeps Favourites, My List, Continue watching and history separate, so nobody's recommendations get mixed up with anyone else's.
Multiview
If two people want to follow two things in the same room, Multiview lets you watch several screens at once on a single device. It is a neat way to share one TV without needing a second screen.
Recordings and reminders
If there is a clash, Recordings and reminders help you catch up later rather than competing for the screen now.
Frequently asked
Can I move my plan from one TV to another? Yes - you can log in on another device. Just remember the rule above: only one device can watch at a time on a one-device subscription.
What happens if two devices try to watch at once on a one-device plan? A one-device subscription covers watching on one device at a time. If you regularly need two screens playing together, a two-device plan is the right fit.
Can I add devices later? Chat with us on WhatsApp via the website and we will talk you through your options.
